In a land far far away lived the King of Jesuan and his Seven sons, they were not good men and were selfish and unkind to their subjects. The rumors of their tyranny came to the court of the Enchantresses of Justice and a test was put into place. When they failed their test a curse was placed upon them, in a field they would bid their time as the base animals they acted like; until seven maidens of kind hearts who were courageous would find them one by one; and by true redemption and true love's kiss were then they would be free!
These characters are in my heart and I adore them always! Love isn't reserved for what society dubs 'perfect' people who fit in some stupid standard. I really don't believe anyone does but lets face it the world looks down on people like me. People like you, with our scars, with our wounds. They say that they know what is best for us and tell people like me to live a healthier life style, and yet those same people will drink alchol in high amounts or smoke or have some other bad habit. But since I am heavier and fat I am the only one with issues. I am the only one who isn't beautiful because I don't fit a cookie cutter image of women.
Fat people are not the only ones under this same attack but how can you pretend to say a blind person or a deaf person or a dwarf has any say over their own bodies and what happened. You hear society telling us that these people are not important enough. Let's not forget women and men who are very tall, again not ok according to these same people. Especially women more than men, it's a double standard. I'm not saying this all to sound bitter. I'm not bitter, I'm done being bitter, but I refuse to be quiet I refuse to let them tell me for one more minute that I am not beautiful, that I am not important, that I don't deserve
love. You hear them say "Oh sure you do but keep it outta books" that's what one person told me when this project started.
So this book series is a fairytale setting without the over perfect people! Instead the people who are fat, blind, deaf, too tall, bi racial couples, dwarfs, and so many more are embraced in these books. I embrace people of all kinds and types and I try to spread the word that no matter what you look like no matter what your 'imperfection is' you matter! You are not measured by your looks but by your heart. I started this book series to show people I would not back down that I would not shy away from this subject and submit to their insults.
